Black & White Wedding Cake

Here she is! These pictures don't really give the size of this cake justice. It was enormous! This was a fun one to make. The bride wanted black frosting, which can be a little tricky. You don't want the frosting to taste funny, so you have to be careful. I played around with it and came up with a black chocolate raspberry flavored icing. It was really good! The cake was a basic white wedding cake with white/black raspberry icing. The bottom and the middle tiers were done with a raspberry jam and icing center. This bride was a joy to work with! She let me be creative! She gave me a picture of something similar to what she wanted and told me to just "make it beautiful". I think we accomplished just that! Congrats McKenna!

Simple Baptism Cake

It must of been a popular weekend for a baptism! This was done for Ashley's baptism. Her mom wanted big pale pink polka dots! I think it turned out really cute. I don't use fondant very often and I decided that the dots would be really cute made with it, so it was a good change of pace. So sweet!

Baptism/First Communion Cake

I love this cake! It is not your traditional baptism or first communion cake. I went with a simple design that was a little modern. I love it when the person that orders the cake allows me to be a little creative! Thanks Katinka!

Lightning McQueen

Who can resist a fun cake like this! This was made for a 4 year olds birthday.

A Bridal Shower Cake

Here is a cake made for a bridal shower. The topper is made out of paper mache'. The bride's sister created this topper especially for this cake. I went with a whismical look to the cake so that it would compliment the topper.

Go Big Rhett!

This is a birthday cake for a family of Husker fans! Their sons' name is Rhett, so they went with the Go Big Rhett! theme. I love the way green makes red just pop.

Maggie and Charlie

This was also a birthday cake. The kiddos were turning one, so there were two individual cakes made for each one. The colors were really bright and fun.

Ella's Butterfly

This was a birthday cake. The colors were so sweet. I loved making this. There was an invitation that I used to match the butterfly shape and colors.

Bridal Shower

This was a cake made for a bridal shower. The bride is also having me do her wedding cake and it will have tiers that will be decorated similar to this. Absolutely gorgeous! Very elegant.

My First Wedding Cake

This was my first wedding cake. It turned out beautiful. The bride wanted a very simple look with the dots. The flowers that you see were all real roses cut and placed just in the right spot. The bride didn't have a topper so we used some of the roses to top the cake off. Instead of doing traditional sheet cakes, the bride went with square cakes that matched the tier of the wedding cake.

Sugar Crystal Wedding Cake

(First - I want to apologize for the first photo that isn't rotated. I wasn't able to get it rotated with the disc I have.)
This was such a pretty cake. It is hard to see the detail of it in these photos. The bride wanted three different colors of ribbon - one on each tier. Then she wanted some texture to the cake so I added some sugar ice crystals that made it sparkle. I was worried about this one when I delivered it because it was pouring rain outside, but with my mom's help and an umbrella the sugar didn't get desolved in the rain! The topper that was used belonged to the brides parents. I know that this meant alot to her family.
